Samsung
A Moon For All Mankind
Role: ACD / Art direction
To coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landings, the launch of Samsung’s new Gear VR and the PyeongChang Winter Olympics we created the feeling of actually being on the moon.
The idea
Close to 50 years ago, the world held its breath as Armstrong stepped out onto the Moon. It was hailed as a “giant leap for mankind”. In reality, only 12 astronauts have ever set foot on it.
We made it possible for everyone to walk on the Moon. We brought together world-class VR creators, engineers and NASA, to create the most accurate experience of walking on the Moon, on Earth.
The rig we created registers your weight in realtime and lifts you as if you were one-sixth of your mass on Earth. The Moon landscape even matches NASA Lunar topographical data.
